2008-03-30 For those who care, a word about the mastering...

This disc is mastered hot, which means there are tons of clipping and lots of compression. The more dancey parts sound horrendous. I hate when a supposed jazz cd is mastered like a rock record. I would avoid this one if you have decent gear and listen closely to music. :(

2007-12-10 good jazz!!!...

great songs. it goes from classic or conservative jazz to contemporary electro jazz. if you are looking for a lounge cd i wouldnt recommend it. this cd needs to be heard several times to get the feeling of the "new conception of jazz" it certainly does have a new one!

2004-07-01 Challenging, but great...

Bugge is clearly interested in pushing music in directions not taken before. His music often requires several listens before you can get into it. I think there is an almost Hawtinesque accent to his sound at times. He never seems to give me enough of the pure jazz I want, almost as if he's teasing me.

This new album is excellent, but I didn't get it at first. I think it took me at least three listens before I could enjoy it. This album is a bit more acoustic at points, which I enjoy. There really can be no justice in any attempt to describe, categorize, or reduce this music. Check it out for yourself!
